SEA EXCURSION TO PATMOS ISLAND
The island of Patmos is considered one of the holiest of places, some refer to
Patmos as a second Jerusalem. You may visit the Monastery of St John the
Theologian as a visitor or take part on one of the many religious services held
daily. Either way you cannot, but admire the monastery not only for its
religious importance but also for its architecture and be able to learn its
history. Not far away the Cave of the Apocalypse where St John wrote the Book
of the Revelations in the Bible. A visit to the quiet, holy cave will be an
unforgettable experience. The whole island of Patmos is picturesque with its
unique style of houses, wonderful beaches and the attractive traditional
village of Hora.

West of the island of Samos and southwest of Ikaria lie the small group of
islands known as Fourni. The islands are inhabited by a handfull of hispitable,
friendly islanders who have maintained their simplicity and willingness to please.
Beaches with clear waters invite you to take a dip. Traditional fish taverns where the
fish and other sea food is not expensive.
By ship travel organises daily trips to Fourni. They mainly leave from
Pythagorion port. The trip takes 50 min. by flying dolphin and 1 hr 40 min
by boat.
